Measured September 6, 2026Because every Florida certificate expires on the same day, the registry shows a wave of expired certificates each August that clears as renewals are processed. A building still marked expired in the autumn is worth a call.
How Florida regulates elevator inspections
- •Florida certificates of operation expire every year on August 1. Renewal opens the first Monday of May.
- •Owners are responsible for scheduling an annual inspection. Certain two-stop elevators under a full-service maintenance contract can be exempt from the annual inspection.
